The 16/6 mm: Dual 1-strip stands out due to its unique Shrunk Face surface. In this process, oak with relatively high moisture content is used for the wear layer, which is then carefully dried under controlled conditions. During drying, the wood naturally shrinks, creating subtle deformations and a lively surface.
This natural shrinkage results in characteristic undulations around knots, cracks, and end-grain splits. Combined with the brushed finish, the wood grain is further enhanced, creating a visible, tactile texture that clearly differs from our standard wood products.
To further emphasise the aged character, selected knots and cracks are partially hand-worked and (partially) filled. This gives the floor a worn, authentic appearance, as if it has been in use for many years. Subtle band-sawn marks may be visible in places, contributing to the overall authentic look.
Thanks to the 6 mm oak wear layer, this floor is not only visually striking but also technically durable and suitable for heavy use and future renovation. Naturally, the floor is suitable for underfloor heating and can be fully finished according to your preferences with Cinzento Custom Made® treatments.
